Elwood F. Clayberger, 79, RR4 Sunbury
SUNBURY - Elwood E Clayberger, 79, of RR4 Sunbury, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday morning, April 5, 2006, at his home.
He was bom Jan. 24, 1927, in Rockefeller Township, a son of the late Edward and Ora (Campbell) Clayberger. On Aug. 20, 1950, he married the former Anna G. Clemens, who survives.
Elwood was a 1944 graduate of Sunbury High School.
He served with the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War.
Mr. Clayberger was a former employee of TRW Co., Danville.
He was a member of Stonington Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Charles Clark of Sunbury, Greta and Frederick Fahrenbruch of Tabernacle, N.J., and Heidi and Brian Bodzioch of Atco, N.J.; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Nathan and Trish Clark, Rebecca and Matthew Shaffer, and Joanna and Matthew Shively, all of Sunbury, Rachel, Sarah and Greg Fahrenbruch, all of Tabernacle, and Noah Bodzioch of Atco; five great-grandchildren, Anna, Isaac, Isaiah, Benjamin and Elizabeth; one brother, Leon Clayberger of Selinsgrove; and one sister, Marcella Shipman of Sunbury.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Claude, and one sister, Elsie Hummel.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Stonington Baptist Church, Stonington, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. J. Douglas Hallman officiating.
Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elwood's memory may be made to Stonington Baptist Church, RR1, Paxinos, PA 17860.
Funeral arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home Inc., 395 State St., Sunbury.
