Duncan Falls Man Dies At Age Of 70

Grant Collins, 70, of Duncan Falls, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the home of a son, Eldeon Collins of Chandlersville Route 1, as the result of a heart attack suffered a week ago.

Mr. Collins was born June 8, 1889 in Salt Creek Township the son of Issac and Nancy Reed Collins.

He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the Zane Chapter, DAV.

Surviving are the son at whose home he died; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Oborn of 1059 Mound street and Mrs. Marie Winland of Blue Rock Route 2; three brothers, Sherman of New Concord Route 2, Cecil of 866 Homewood avenue and Floyd Collins of Florida and three grandchildren, Mrs. Sally Sampson and Richard Collins both of Philo and Timmy Collins of Chandlersville Route 1. His wife Gertrude died in 1917.

The body was removed to the Clyde E. Thompson Funeral Home in Duncan Falls where friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. H. M. Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn.
