ELDON G. COLLINS

Eldon G. "Buck" Collins, 71, of 3455 Coopermill Road, died at 6:04 a.m. Thursday, Feb 5, 1987, in Bethesda Hospital, where he had been a patient for three weeks.

Mr. Collins was a World War II Navy veteran and received the Navy Unit Commendation Award and the Purple Heart. He was a member of Rolling Plains United Methodist Church. He was a 3nd Degree Mason and a member of Gage and Gavel Masonic Lodge of Chandlersville, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Irish Masons and Zavi Shrine. He was a life member of the DAV and VFW.

He was born July 29, 1915, in Zanesville, a son of Grant and Gertrude Bowers Collins. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Sherman and Stella Collins.

Surviving are his wife, Eileen W. Collins; two sons, Tim Collins of White Cottage and Richard Collins of Gray Street; a daughter, Sally Rose Woods of Dallas, N.C.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the William Thompson and Son Funeral Home, White Cottage.
