Mrs. Elsie M. Hummel
SUNBURY - Mrs. Elsie M. Hummel, 58, Sunbury RD2, a former employee of the Sunbury Textile Mills, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday in the Williamsport Hospital. Death was due to natural causes.
She was a graduate of Sunbury High School in 1941. Mrs. Hummel was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Sunbury.
Born in Rockefeller Township March 10, 1922, she was a daughter of Ora Clayberger Gass of Sunbury and the late Edward Clayberger. She married Daniel Hummel in 1941.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by two children, Mrs. Faye E. Sparkman of Hollywood, Fla., and Larry D. of Dillsburg; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Leon Clayberger of Snydertown, and Cloyd and Elwood Clayberger, both of Sunbury RD4; and a sister, Mrs. Marcella Shipman of Sunbury RD1.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, Sunbury, by the Rev. Jay Derk. Burial will be in the United Lutheran Cemetery, Sunbury RD4.
Friends may call in the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
