PINETOPS--The marriage of Miss Jean Lucille Cole, daughter of Mrs. Daniel Hugh Cole and the late Mr. Cole of Pinetops and Philip Cedric Owens, son of Mr, and Mrs. John Williams Owens of Pinetops was solemnized Thursday morning, November 22, at 10 o'clock in the Pinetops Baptist Church.
The ceremony was performed by the Reverend Thomas W. McKneely before the alter banked with palms and centered with an arrangement of large mums.
Nuptial music was presented by Miss Billie June Hewett, pianist, and Mrs. Alton Pate, aunt of the Bridegroom, from Kinston as soloist. Mrs. Pate sang "I Love You Truly" and, "The Wedding Prayer".
For her wedding the bride chose a waltz length dress of brocade satin, trimmed at the sabrina neckline with lace embroidered in seed pearls and sequins. Her veil was attached to a cap of lace and satin trimmed in pearls. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of carnations.
After the wedding, the couple left on a short trip to unannounced points and will reside in Tarboro upon their return.
