Thomas Hinks Passed Away Yesterday at His Home in Burke--Was Highly Esteemed Farmer and Citizen--The Funeral Will be Held Wednesday Afternoon

Thomas Hinks succumed to an attack of heart weakness at his home in North Burke about 6:30 o'clock Sunday morning, after a protracted illness extending over a period of several months.

The deceased was 78 years of age and had been a well known Burke farmer for many years. Mr. Hinks moved to North Burke from Canada about 35 years ago. Although he had been confined to his home for a considerable length of time by heart weakness, Mr. Hinks was a man who seldom complained, and displayed remarkable fortitude to the end. He was a devoted member of the Coveytown Wesleyan Methodist church and was known as a man of true Christian character, ever kind and considerate to all.

Besides his wife, Mrs. Olive Hinks, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Cora Crawford, of Burke, four sons Joseph of Burke, and Amos, Warren and Alton, of Johnstown, Pa. Three brothers John, of Powers Court, Canada; James, of Upper Canada, and Peter, of Chateaugay; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Fryer of Canada, and Mrs. Wallace Persons, of Vermont, also survive.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon from Coveytown Wesleyan Methodist church at two o'clock. Interment in North Burke cemetery.
