Pvt. Bowers Rites
Service for Pvt. Charles W. Bowers will be held at 2 p. m. Monday from the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Zanesville, with the Rev. Albert McCutcheon officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Zanesville.
Pvt. Bowers, a B. & O. fireman here prior to his induction, was killed in action in France on July 2, 1944. He came here from Zanesville in 1941 and was inducted on Oct. 27, 1943.
His survivors includes his wife, the former Kathryn Louise Mosley; a brother, Robert M. Bowers, and two sisters, Mrs. Leona Edwards and Mrs. Thomas Orr, all three of Zanesville, and an aunt here, Mrs. Amos A. Ramsey, 946 Cleveland avenue.

Pvt. Bowers Killed In France
Former B. and O. Fireman Fatally Wounded On July 2; 81st Fatality
Ross county's toll of battle fatalities stood at 81 Saturday with the report of the death of Pvt. Charles Walter Bowers, 25, in France on July 2 of wounds received the same day.
Mrs. Kathryn Louise Mosley Bowers, 167 West Main street, his bride of eight months, was notified Friday of his death by the war department, which in late August had informed her he had been seriously wounded on July 2 and supplied her with his hospital address.
Mrs. Bowers last heard from Pvt. Bowers on June 24, at which time he wrote that he was "having a hard time ducking bullets."
Pvt. Bowers came to Chillicothe from Zanesville in 1941 and was employed as a fireman on the B. & O., prior to his induction on Oct. 27, 1943. His parents, Liss and Rhoda Bowers are dead. In addition to his wife, he has a brother, Robert M. Bowers, and two sisters. Mrs. Leona Edwards and Mrs. Thomas Orr, all of Ziinesville.
He was married to Miss Mosley on March 10, 1944 at Greenup, Ky. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Clabe Mosley of the West Main street address and is employed at the Aeronautical Products, Inc., Washington C. H.
The death was the second to occur in the Mosley family this year, Pvt. Edward Manuel Mosley, 23, an MP was electrocuted Feb. 3, when he touched a live wire while on duty in Queensland, Australia. He is buried in the AAF cemetery at Townsville, Queensland.
Another brother of Mrs. Bowers, Pvt. Thurman Mosley, is in France, after having seen service in Panama, North Africa, and Italy, and a half brother, Howard James Mosley, is a seaman 1/c, serving in the Pacific.
