MRS. BELLE KEESLER DIES FOLLOWING A HEART ATTACK

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. Joe Church of Christ for Mrs. Belle Keesler, 80, who resided with a son, Henry Keesler of near Auburn.
Donald Foust, former pastor of the St. Joe church and present pastor of the Aboite Center Church of Christ near Fort Wayne, will officiate at the services and he will be assisted by Douglas Holley, pastor of the church in St. Joe. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery at St. Joe.
Friends may call at the Baidinger & Walter funeral home in Spencerville. The body will be taken to the church at noon on Friday for the services.
Mrs. Keesler died at the Dr. Bonnell M. Souder hospital in Auburn at 5 p.m. Tuesday from a heart attack suffered four days before. She was admitted to the hospital after the seizure.
She was born near St. Joe on Nov. 5, 1880, and was the daughter of Charles and Jane Allen Coburn. Her husband, Sam Keesler, died on June 30, 1950. She resided in the St. Joe area all of her lifetime and after the death of her husband she lived with her children, residing with Henry Keesler for the past few years.
Other survivors include another son, Walter Keesler of Miami, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Yeiser of St. Joe; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Harlan Coburn of Lynn, Mass., and Lester Coburn of St. Joe. Another daughter, Jane, died in her childhood.

Charles M. Coburn, farmer and stock-raiser, was born in Trumbull County, Ohio, Nov. 21, 1827, a son of Ebenezer and Deliverance (Wilson) Coburn. In August 1831, his parents moved to De Kalb County, Ind., and settled in Concord Township, where he was reared, his youth being spent in assisting his father clear and cultivate a frontier farm. When seventeen years of age he began to work for the farmers by the month, and when nineteen years of age he was married, and then for several years rented land in this township. In February, 1855, he bought 40 acres of timber land which he cleared, and to which he has since added thirty acres. This he has brought under a good state of cultivation and now has a pleasant home and is surrounded with all that makes life comfortable. He was married Nov. 15, 1846, to Almira Milliman, a native of New York, daughter of John and Mary (Warren) Milliman. To them were born eight children, five of whom are living—Helen A., Emma A., William H. H., Charles Marcellus and Otis B. Harriet E., Agnes B., and Rosalie F. are deceased. Mrs. Coburn died Feb. 12, 1871, and Feb. 5, 1874, Mr. Coburn married Jane E. Allen, daughter of William and Elizabeth (Brownley) Allen. They have five children—Allen E., Clarence A., Ella C., Caroline B., and John H. Mr. Coburn is a member of the Disciples church. Politically he is a Republican.
