Bowers-Orr Rites Are Announced
Announcement is being made of the marriage of her daughter, Ila Mae, to Thomas Orr, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Orr, of near Dover, by Mrs. Rhoda Bowers, of 1203 Blandy avenue.
Their wedding took place in the home of the officiating minister, Rev. James Kinney, North street, this past Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edwards acted as attendants for Mr. Orr and his bride.
Alpaca crepe in navy blue fashioned the afternoon frock worn by the bride and white pique trim completed the dress. She wore navy blue accessories. Mrs. Edwards, who is a sister of the former Miss Bowers, also selected navy for her ensemble which was fashioned along lines similar to the bride's dress.
The new Mrs. Orr attended Lash high school and she is a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Hamline avenue. She is the daughter of Mrs. Bowers and the late U. S. Bowers.
Mr. Orr, a graduate of Dover high school, holds a government position in Cleveland where he and his bride are making their home.
Attending last Thursday's wedding were Mrs. Bowers, Mr. and Mrs. John Orr and Miss Betty Lou Edwards. They were guests at a dinner party given for the young couple at the Bowers home just after the ceremony.
