Amos Hinks
Amos Hinks, 93, of Carrollton, formerly of Akron, died Tuesday at Gettysburg Hospital in Pennsylvania following a short illness.
He was born in Burke, N.Y., to the late Thomas and Olive LaFluer Hinks. He was a member of the High Street Christian Church of Akron, North Hill Kiwanis Club and Masonic Lodge F&AM. He was formerly employed at the Star Drilling Co. in Akron from 1926 to 1952, and at the Mechanical Mold & Machine Co. in Akron from 1952, retiring in 1967. He married Mildred Frank on November 6, 1926; she died March 7, 1985.
Survivors include two sons, William L. of Akron, and Donald of Gettysburg, Pa.; daughter, Mrs. Larry (Ann) Marinaccio of Wampum, Pa.; brother, Alton of Sun City, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. Three brothers and one sister are deceased.
Service 11 a.m., Saturday at the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home in Carrollton, with Revs. Donald Hinks, Mike Frank and William Spangler officiating. Burial in Scroggsfield Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.
