HUGH NEILAND OF ST. JOE IS DEAD AT AGE OF 75 YEARS

Last rites for Hugh Neiland, 75, former Auburn resident who died Sunday afternoon at his home in St. Joe, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Kinsey funeral home in St. Joe, with burial in Alton cemetery at Cheesetown. He dropped dead at his home from a heart attack.

Mr. Neiland was born in Ohio, but came to Auburn as a young man and obtained employment at the Eckhart buggy factory. He later worked for the Auburn Auto Co., remaining with that concern for 35 years.

Mr. Neiland and his wife, Mattie, who survives, moved to St. Joe four years ago. The only other close survivor is a step-son, Fred Gee of 1202 South Jackson street, Auburn.

MRS. HUGH NEILAND DIES AT AUBURN AT AGE OF 68

Funeral services for Mrs. Hugh Neiland of 619 Douglas street, Auburn, will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at the Immaculate Conception church, Father Leo Franz officiating. Burial will take place in the Catholic cemetery north of Auburn.

Mrs. Neiland died Friday morning at 9 o'clock after a long illnesa from paralysis and complications.

She was born May 25, 1862, in Richland township. She was married to Thomas Broderick in 1878. He died in 1905. On August 21, 1907, she was united in marriage with Mr. Neiland.

Surviving besides the husband are two half brothers, C. A. Smith of Elkhart, and B. E. Smith, living in the state of Washington.
